Let me put it this way. I was walking along a gallery of ideas and came
across Pirsig on stoves and next to it was Rorty on stoves. Intuitively,
without saying a word either to myself or my companion, I immediately
judged Pirsig's idea to be of much higher quality than Rorty's idea. After
a brief pause, I broke the silence to ask my companion which of the two
ideas she judged to be of higher quality. She also chose Pirsig. Since
we had reached "intersubjective agreement" we had fulfilled Rorty's
definition of "truth." Then, my companion and I gave each other an ironic
wink and hand in hand, walked out of the gallery and returned to the
wordless radiance of the undifferentiated aesthetic continuum.
Happy Thanksgiving.
