How about replacing "freedom and versality" with "creativity"? There is no
"for whom" required, that is, creativity for its own sake is what Quality is
all about. But creativity requires static latches (otherwise one has chaos),
so any static pattern will have some tendency to preserve itself. This is
only a problem when the static pattern is self-conscious, and thinks its
survival is a good in itself, as opposed to being a temporary part of a
general creative process.
