John,
>the closest to philosophy I got before ZMM Was Douglas
>Adams 5 book trilogy "The Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy".
One of the best sources of great philosophical thinking. Not a lot of
traditional, dry, boring, Professional Philosophy, but some of the best
meditations on the modern predicament, as I think many here would attest.
>The best way I can describe the fuzziness is like coming up with the
>solution to all the worlds ills after smoking some really good pot. It all
>makes sense and will work and when you wake up the next day you can remember
>you had a great idea but you can't remember what it was.
Or, as my fiance put it while high, "I'm trying so hard to hold onto
brilliance." (Written in lipstick, on a mirror.)
If you want any validation, I think you're well on your way to Quality.
When I came upon ZMM, it inspired me to do philosophy, but it also contains
some of the best descriptions of teaching I've come across. As, like
yourself, a future teacher, I don't think there's anything better to use as
your manual then ZMM.
