Hi guys
I recently came across this article on falsification at nature.com:
http://www.nature.com/news/2004/040802/full/040802-19.html
I found this interesting in that it seems to be exactly what Robert Pirsig
is doing with his MOQ.
There is an essay by Karl Popper that deals with falsification as well at:
http://www.stephenjaygould.org/ctrl/popper_falsification.html
Falsification seems logical but not perhaps in the everyday sense of the
word. Falsification is actually quite difficult to get a handle on; we just
do not normally seem to think that way, at least I don't. I would imagine
that scientists are trained to do so, but as the article says, even they
have problems using falsification. Do you see falsification as a branch of
logic? Or is it some sort of "anti-logic"?
Thank you for your comments,
Dan
