Pirsig calls karma "evolutionary garbage". I like to think we all have to
eventually pick up our own mess.
I agree with Nietzsche in that I do NOT think that death resolves anything.
The idea that at death there is a single judgment that determines a (very
static!) eternal state I find ludicrous. On the other hand, the idea that
death is personal oblivion sounds to me like wishful thinking on the part
of secularists. It means they don't have to pick up their garbage, that
responsibility ends.
