    Dear Mark M.,

    You asked 28 Aug 2004 08:21:14 -0400:
'I do not know how you would describe your experience of sq and DQ?'

Patterned experience versus the appearance of new patterns in my experience.

    You continued:
'how would the MOQ deal with these experiences other than saying one is more
static than the other, or one is more Dynamic than the other?'

Categorize existing & new patterns by level and by higher/lower quality
    within levels.

I'm glad that my description ('"More coherence" (i.e. more harmony of lower
level patterns of value with higher level patterns of value) is then for me
one of the criteria for Dynamic Quality operating on a (lower) level') makes
you write 'Sounds like we are coming together at this point'!

Last but not least you wrote:
'If coherence is a workable concept, it can be applied to 5th level
relationships with the 4th level, just as is can be applied to 3rd level
relationships with 4th level patterns. Pirsig suggests that the code af art
is above the intellectual level. How do you view this?'

I have relatively little affinity with art (compared to religion). Both are
ways for humanity to reach beyond the 4th level, yes. For me the concept of
Meaning (as in 'the Meaning of Life', to be distinguished from 'the meaning
of words') works to point beyond the 4th level, as do paradoxes and
    metaphors.

    With friendly greetings,

    Wim
