    The author is obviously real - Lavery I'm guessing.
    The story is (presumably) fiction,
    but based on the realities in the authors head,
    just like stories that claim to be non-fiction in fact.

    I'm beginning to wish I'd not made the earlier comment.
    I was really just remarking on the original basis for the plot line,
    not wanting a debate on extraneous details.

    Are the messages in the plot any good.
    That's rhetorical BTW.
    (I've still not read it.)
