I have just put on my website (at www.anthonymcwatt.co.uk ) an interesting M.A. paper relating Robert Pirsig to the pragmatists by Dean Summers (who is now a film studies / philosophy lecturer in the UK).
I thought Dean’s paper was that good I gave a copy of it to Pirsig in 1999. His feedback on it was very positive:
"It is extremely good. I hope you can find out who the author is. He would be an excellent colleague for you in America. The only error I can find is its omission of the merits of static quality as a safeguard against degeneracy, but this is minor."
Like that recommended website by Lavery, praise like that doesn't come often!
Anyway, I'd like to thank Paul Turner who kindly created an electronic copy of the paper and, after a search on the web to find Dean, he provided the original bibliography as well as his permission to use it.
I've also used this opportunity to put an updated version of my 2002 Education paper for anyone interested in the relationship between modern education and the MOQ.
