If privately somebody decided that those books were
written in from a SOM metaphysics then wouldn't
the too be SOM and the books be products from that tool?

If the texts of one culture differ from another culture what
happens then--- statistically equate population of
countries and whether they have it in their texts?
    (like ice causing colds)

about the knowledge = consensus of opinion issue:

--I don't understand how you say MOQ should be private
along with all the application threads about it.
It sounds to me like "go out in public and use it privately"

--- what Mari wrote here does appeal to me

MARI: Some time ago i mentioned that Aldous Huxley said : "Knowledge" is
    > public "Understanding" is private.

But this idea of my beliefs as opinion and consensus of
beliefs as knowledge doesn't appeal to me.
I'm trying to figure out exactly why.
    I notice that Huxley's (understanding/knowledge) is a noun-verb
distinction and the opinion/knowledge is a noun-noun distinction (with an
implicit connotation one noun is better)

one more thing, going back to my khaki couch

we decided you can't know if it's khaki, but
i just want to add something to that add idea

    hypothetically let's say it's possible
that there is no true color to my couch or
    the color is truly khaki.

so if there is no true color then yes i can never
    know the true color

but if there is a true color, let's just say khaki,
and i see it as khaki and believe it is khaki
then i do know it's true color.

    knowing it's true color
    vs
knowing you know it's true color

I grant that I can never know I know the true color
but I'm less sure about the possibility of knowing
    the true color

I guess i like to think of their being public knowledge
and private knowledge. These aren't mutually exclusive,
some things there could be large overlap and some
    very little.

Thinking about this got that old song by Kenny Rogers in
    my mind..
you got to know when to hold them, know when to fold
them, know when to walk away and know when to run,
you better count your blessings sitting at the table...
    uhhhh dont know anymore words.
