    So to understand:
    - the use of the word 'charmed' in quantum physics I need have no background in physics whatsoever?
    (and then if I get that background I've just been 'hypnotised' into a belief); or
    - the use of the word 'set' in a tennis match, I need have no understanding of the sport? (and then
    if I get that background I've just been 'hypnotised' into a belief); or
    - the use of the word 'gene' in modern evolutionary theory, I need have no understanding of Darwin,
    Mendel, Crick and Watson? (and then if I get that background I've just been 'hypnotised' into a
    belief);

    et cetera et cetera. The possible examples are infinite. Of course you need to become familiar with
    an area before you can understand it.

    As you so pithily put it yourself:

    You're the one exhibiting crazyness and tortured logic. What's at stake here for you? (Please don't
    just say 'truth', because that begs the question. And it's a genuine question by the way, I'm not
    trying to be snide)
