Steve, Rick, Platt, Arlo...
Another thing to consider...
Modern Socialism is a reaction to the obvious inequities caused by a
socio-economic system whose main premise seems to be: "It's perfectly
ok (moral) for one person to own everything." Progressive taxation
is one tool for undoing an injustice.
My guess is... Set your system up right in the first place, maybe
incorporating some of the Christian ideas quoted here and ideas from
ParEcon (Participatory Economics), as well as John Rawls' Theory of
Justice, and you'll be able to nip potential injustices in the bud.
Therefore, no need for all that evil taxation....
Just a thought,

Hi Rick and Platt,
On socialism there is also this...
The community of believers were of one heart and one mind. None of
them ever claimed anything as his own; rather, everything was held in
common. With power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of
the Lord Jesus, and great respect was paid to them all; nor was there
anyone needy among them, for all who owned property or houses sold
them and lay them at the feet of the apostles to be distributed to
everyone according to his need. Acts 4:32-35
