Hi,
I spent 6 weeks in Italy in 1998 studying art. I was curious but thought
I'd be turned off by all the "religious" painting. From my first view of
Italian art, I fell in love with Italy's religious and non-religious
art. I cried when I saw Michelangelo's David. I wept when I saw
Botticelli's Birth of Venus and La Primavera. Sublime beauty is found
inside and outside of religion. Beauty doesn't really need religion, does
it? I think it's wonderful that you've been able to connect with beauty
through religion, but we all aren't you. What of everybody else? I put
religion in the same category as having my feet bound. :-)
