"personal responsibility and personal liberty". The power of neocon rhetoric...
Again, the mythology promoted is "individual responsibility" for conservative
government electives. And yet as Wired (the publication for technology gurus)
publishes in: http://www.wired.com/news/privacy/0,1848,66242,00.html
you will see that that the so-called "individualistic" conservatives use
government power to control and manipulate quite as adequately as the evil and
degenerate liberals.
(I use this as one of many recent, but telling, articles on the reality of
"conservative" brand government)
Platt proposes "conservatives promoting individualism", but you will see that
that this is mere fanciful fiction. The conservatives are just as expansive and
invasive as the condemned "leftists". As MSH eloquently points out, it is all
remanifestations of entrenched power structures.
So, aren't conservatives "coercive" in using government power to solve corporate
injustices??? You can damn well bet the boat on it. But don't expect
conservatives to admit to power entrenched expansive government, their entire
platfor depends on convincing you that they are "pro-individual". And they'll
smile while taking away your individual freedoms. Very, very Goebbelian. He
would be quite proud.
