A few days ago someone made a comment about Pirsig's use of fiction ( the novel
) to get his philosophy heard. Will the person who said that re-present their
statement/idea.

It might have been me. Its just an observation. Both ZAMM and LILA are novels
of a sort. Heard an interview with Norman Mailer the other day. He said "The
novel is the finest vehicle for moral inquiry". I'd guess this is why Pirsig
chose the form.
Matt:
Rorty would second Mailer's motion. I briefly link Pirsig's conception of a
post-SOM culture with Rorty's idea of a literary culture in the last part of
"Confessions of a Fallen Priest," which is now available at moq.org's
frontpage.
And I promise, that's the last time I'll blatantly plug it. Swear to God.
