Hi All,
If anyone would like to have a serious philosophical discussion about
politics, the place to start on this site devoted to the MOQ is with
Pirsig's claim that the intellectual level demands that a quality
government guarantee the following rights to its citizens:
democracy
trial by jury
habeas corpus
freedom of speech
freedom of the press
freedom of assembly
freedom of travel
free markets
It seems to me that any threat to these guarantees coming from any source,
liberal or conservative, should be strongly resisted by anyone who
believes in the values of the MOQ. Further, any government which renounces
any of these guarantees constitutes a threat to any government which
upholds them.
Best,
Platt
