Platt,
Smart-arse :-) I had already used Google. I was using the "who's he"
figuratively - in the sense of "why do you think he's significant". I
hadn't found the specific quote though. Thanks for that. (BTW can I be
arrested for clicking on "infidels.org" ?)
The announcement of the death of logic is perhaps exaggerated or maybe
premature - obviously what I'm meaning is - (hard to get into a snappy
a one-liner) - logic should at least not be seen as the exclusive
means for constructing a case. I could also add - Pirsig was a human
and was fallible like the rest of us. Consistent yes - logically so ?
- I'm not sure that's actually necessary.
Explain "new reason" ? - I really am trying - I have given examples
and references concerning "the quality of explanation" - but as I said
its truth shouldn't stand or fall on the quality of my explanation.
There are giants whose shoulders I can't manage to climb onto, yet.
(And I will come back and try some more.)
