    Hi all,

Social level struggles for power often subvert ideas, their advocates
claiming the high ground of Intellectual validation of their
purposes, though their actions reveal an astounding hypocrisy. In
this way, Pirsig's Intellectual level is made subservient to the
Social, resulting in a clear breach of MOQ morality.

Here's a quote to see if I can swing the momentum of this discussion
    back toward my original idea:

"Our position is that whatever grievances a nation may have, however
objectionable it finds the status quo, aggressive warfare is an
illegal means for settling those grievances or for altering those
    conditions."

Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson, the American prosecutor at the
Nuremberg trials, in his opening statement to the tribunal.

    msh asks, probably rhetorically:
Does this quote bring to mind any recent events in world history?

    Best,
    Mark Steven Heyman (msh)
