    Allen,

My issue with the MOQ is that it says that a human being is a set of inorganic, ..., intellectual SQ "capable of responding to DQ". That does not describe me or you. Instead, when I am writing a post to MOQ-discuss, there is this assumption that it is me that is writing it, as opposed to taking dictation from something undifferentiated called DQ. Of course, this post that I am writing is not all that creative, but it is nevertheless original, just as yours was, and as is everyone's. We call Einstein a genius. We do not say that Einstein was just a vehicle for DQ to work through. So, yes, there is new SQ everyday, but it seems silly to me to say that that which produces is not intellect. But if one goes through Lila, one would never suspect it. Instead, DQ (the only creative force recognized by the MOQ) is called "pre-intellectual".

By the way, I am far from saying that intellect is solely a human thing. A while back (see the "A bit of reasoning" thread, from last summer), I argued that the phrase "static pattern of value" implies intellect: that is, a pattern is a concept, so it makes sense to me to say that Quality and Intellect are two names for the same (non)-thing. The MOQ, on the other hand, continually denigrates Intellect with respect to Quality.

      Scott (in broken record mode):
Intellect also lies at the heart of what it means to be a human being, and
the inability of the MOQ to come to grips with Intellect (as creative and
transcending) is the Achilles heel of the MOQ.

      Hello Scott,
I am afraid i do not understand why you say the MOQ is unable to come to grips with Intellect as creative and transcending? If i tell you what i think about it then maybe you can help me?
I ask myself what the Intellect is and the MOQ tells me it is patterns of value or static quality. Anthony McWatt's thesis says allot more about this too as well as Lila. I remember that Dynamic Quality, which is the same no matter what patterns of value we think about (Inorganic, Biological etc) evolves sq and is the goal of sq.
Intellect sq is evolving i think day to day.
Any intellectual progress like maybe a scientist making a new theory up is intellectual evolution happening right under our noses. And that is creative and transcending right there for you any time you look at it.
I am surprised you don't think of this Scott.

      Thank you.
      Allen
