From these rituals (those traffic lights that ritualy keep cars from smashing into each other at junctions) the ghost intellectual traffic lights behaviour floated away. The ghost traffic lights retain a functional remnant of car and stop/go but that almost straight away is left far behind in an instant or maybe not even relevant. As soon as any free relationship among winking is off on its own way anything is possable.

Your conclusion about (this point of) Anthony's thesis is correct,
and its (the thesis) "experience creating intellect" is correct too
...Quality or experience did create the static intellectual level in
its time. But I disagree with this efforts to mix SOM's subjective
"everything in our mind" (mind now called "intellect") with MOQ's
own statement that the inorganic level came first and intellect
last.
This is a very interesting point to me Bo. I had to read this a few times before i remembered the way you use mind in this sentence because mind is a pattern of intellectual quality and not the intellect. From Anthonys book
The significance of Pirsig’s employing the
phenomenological orientated Buddhist ontology rather than Descartes’ ontology is
that it allows the conceptualisation of reality beyond the mind-matter format. As
such, mental substances and material substances can be perceived as ontologically
identical i.e. as intellectual quality patterns and inorganic quality patterns
respectively.
This ontological construction not only circumvents SOM’s mind-matter problem
but is supported by the scientific evidence (of cosmological evolution) which,
indicates that mind (eventually) evolved from matter (despite appearing so radically
different).
quality patterns are all patterns whether they are intellectual or inorganic and the relationship between them is set by evolution and evolution is a pattern too. This ordering of things is either high quality or it is low quality and it looks high quality because it harmonises allot of empirical evidence very neatly dont you think Bo. Remember that buddhist ontology is as old as greek ontology and maybe even allot older and buddhists never said its all in the mind they said its all experience which now has the fancy word phenomenological to make it.
