Mark,
a)there is no denigration post b) find it funny that you would be the one to have this complaint
I don't see any denigration in this post at all. I am just saying I think it is funny that what Pirsig's says is used to support very different political positions.
There isn't anything about Pirsig approving your political positions so don't know where you got that. Thus, the only denigration was one that you just inserted yourself.
As for the ignoring part....I was just saying if you start acting obnoxious I can't promise I a response.
I won't use your name if you want...can I do the somebody said thing you use or would that bother you also?

I am impressedwith Pirsig's writing. I think it is so funny that
Platt and people like Ant, DMB, MSH bothalign their political views
with Pirsig political views.

Actually, I've developed my own political views by reading history.
I also read the metaphysics of quality and see in it, particularly in
the hierarchy of morality, a lot that just happens to square with my
views. In other words, I don't see my politics in Pirsig's
philosophy. I don't need to. What I see is an edifice of thought
that in many ways corresponds with my own. I don't need father
Pirsig's approval for my opinions.
The whole purpose of debate between the Old Plant and me, say, is to
discover the logic and evidence underpinning our two very different
views of the world, and sometimes the MOQ comes into the picture, but
it isn't the whole picture, for either one of us.
Now, since you (Erin) and I are supposed to be in mutual ignore mode,
I'm gonna have to ask to stop mentioning my name in your posts, that
is, unless you're willing to back up your denigration with argument.
Fair enough?
