That's interesting Erin,
I think it was I who raised the lines in the sand idea.In fact part of my motive was to avoid social clicques and make thevarious "zones" in the MoQ debates a bit more visible to all.
I wouldn't want anyone to put people either sides of any such lines,but themselves, as a declaration of their position, exactly to avoidstereotypical characterisations based on impressions received fromprevious debates, both content and style.
Even those of us with the benefit of "social bonding" are finding someinteresting lines that separate us. I'm reminded by Bono (of U2,that's a rock band Platt) who praising George Bush (yes, that'spraising him) said "However much you disagreee, you only need to findone thing in common with another human to be able to work with them."
If we don't draw some lines, even fuzzy ones, every debate is confusedby every issue IMHO. It's not that we can't see what separates us,that becomes all too obvious, it's that we can't see our commonground. Set theory has its uses.
