I don't know if what you describe above is a common view of the MoQ, held by
many, it's certainly not mine.
Scott:
It is not a common view of the MOQ. What I am doing here is arguing that the
MOQ is not anti-essentialist as some claim it is.

An SPOV is neither a particular nor a pattern of particulars. It is (a)
value(s). Being a value it realizes the potential of another value being
unequal to itself. (without value there cannot be another value).
Scott:
Are you saying that it is meaningless to speak of a pattern of particulars?
If so, I don't know what else a pattern may be. I let go of three rocks, one
at a time. Each time the rock falls to the ground. Each fall is a particular
event. Isn't the fact that they all fall a pattern of particulars. The MOQ
says that value is inherent in all patterns (and I agree). So why do you say
that a static pattern of values is not a pattern of particulars?

In dynamic quality there is no value, this is the essence of everything.
Scott:
I agree with you, I think, in that I would say that there is only value in
the interaction between the dynamic and the static, though I would disagree
in saying that the dynamic is the essence of everything. If it makes sense
to speak of an essence of everything, I would say it is that interaction.
