    I had mentioned Magritte's "The False Mirror" as a Good representation of
    paradox being at the core of our representational system. You asked for a link,
    and I think I forgot to send one.

    I think I also mentioned Gericault's Shipwreck, which I had forgotten is
    actually called "The Raft of the Medusa". This has nothing to do with paradox,
    but is one of my favorite paintings and hangs on my reading room wall. You can

    If you're inclined, there is a great little book called "The History of the
    World in 10 1/2 Chapters", in which the central chapter is a retelling of the
    story of the Medusa.
