Hi Rick,
You're right I'd been saying that reality was just static patterns, which
was misleading. Reality certainly includes the dynamic change of static
patterns and is more than just static patterns, but change itself is a
static pattern, an expectation of things changing because things have always
changed before. Things are even expected to change unexpectedly sometimes.
We don't need to use a "knife" to cut things up to rephrase the same old
split in new ways to temporarily explain something, we can simply use the
term "expectation". It can explain it all, due to its allowance for
uncertainty and its moral component.
