Skutvik:
Regarding Mike Hamilton I'm not sure if he vouches for
the said
"eating the cake and keeping it" idea - or for the SOL
at all - he seems to have dropped out.
Mark:
I must say, i am disapointed.
You made things sound rather like a Crick and Watson
fathoming the ellusive structure of DNA, when in fact
you're a tragic figure, fannying about in the back
room on the internet, fantasising your secret life
pretending to be Robert Pirsig.
Skutvik:
Still, it's a mystery how Mark can have missed it, he
seems to study my posts more thoroughly than the devil
reads the Bible.
Mark:
Your posts exhibit the same finger wagging tone. But
what about this, 'great progress'?
Skutvik:
The last time I expounded it was in yesterday's post
to David Morey: The MOQ began as a SOM "document",
but grew out of its control and created a meta-reality
of which SOM became its own static intellectual level,
and its framework will always remain an intellectual
pattern.
Mark:
I see. Yes, i did read this, but, funny! I didn't flag
it up as the most stupendous breakthrough in
philosophy since Mrs Plato asked Mr Plato for a quick
wriggle.
Talk about mixing apples and oranges; the more
desparate you become to stitch up the gapping wholes
in your ludicrous system, the more tesilated and
bedragled it becomes.
Now, down to details...
The problem you have is this: The intellectual level
of value evolution is not the same as any S/O
division. All your troubles begin and end there.
ZMM's stress regarding SOM as problematic is centred
on Aristotle's legacy to Western tradition, which
regards the intellects' over concern with the
proliferation and naming of substances at the expense
of Human involvement and creativity. In short, SOM.
It is clear from the 'get go' as our American friends
insist upon having it, that intellect is getting
rather too hung up on this SOM lark, when it could do
otherwise.
You, Skutvik, have got it all arsy varsy.
Skutvik:
This will hopefully satisfy those who has it a major
stumbling
block that the SOL places the MOQ outside the
intellectual level...
Mark:
Quaint. You make it sound as if an almost
insignificant crease has been smoothed out with the
application of a delicate steam iron's touch. In this
regard, Berty Woosters' redoubtable aid Jeeves was a
genius.
Skutvik:
...something that seems equal to outside our "mythos".
Its empty
shell remains an intellectual pattern, while the
living part forms the Quality Reality of which
intellect is a sub-set. Get it?
Mark:
Oh yes, i get it alright. It's not too hard to follow
your mistake, but following someone's mistake does not
lead one to agree with it. I'm sorry you don't have a
legacy to stand on, but until you unlearn what you
have learned young Skywlaker, progress make you will not.
