Hi Sam:
> You said: " I am still surprised that you appear to deny the literal

> everlasting." Can you point to where I did so? I would hate to think that I
> had inadvertently misled you about what I actually believe!
You said" "Christianity is geared around a renunciation of the ego rather
more than it is geared around the ultimate salvation of the ego." I
assume from this that you, Sam, do not believe that you, a Christian,
will personally survive death so as to know that you did.
Later you said: "That you find both Wim and my views on the matter
surprising . . . might say more about the general preconceptions held by
our society, rather than reveal the truth about Christian faith."
If the passages I quoted previously (the Apostle's Creed and Gospel of
John) do not reveal the truth about the Christian faith I and many others
have been sorely misguided. Which I admit is very possible.
So, please straighten me out. Do you believe as a practising Christian
that you will be rewarded with life everlasting and will personally know
the truth of that promise after you die? Thanks.
Platt
