Hey all,
As an attorney, I often have to search the laws of various states for information and ideas. Earlier today while searching through Minnesota procedural law, I came across a source called "Pirsig on Minnesota Pleading". Wondering if it could possibly be the same Pirsig, I did a websearch on the title and found that it is! (see http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0327001372/ref%3Dnosim/diamondstarcommu/104-1461002-5476701). In 1998, Robert M. Pirsig wrote a supplement to a Minnesota civil procedure textbook which seems to have originally been written by... Maynard E. Pirsig, his dear old dad. (See http://www.addall.com/Browse/Detail/1562578359.html). What's more, I noticed that many online booksellers are now including this among his "available titles" (selling for about $90 or so... pretty standard for a legal text). Through my office I was able to get access to an online version of "Pirsig on Minnesota Pleading". I glanced through some of it and report to you that it seems in all senses to be your totally standard, everyday reference book for law students and lawyers. Robert M. Pirsig is billed as the author of the 1998 cumulative supplement, which I unfortunately haven't been able to find in the system yet. Moreover, I'm not sure what exactly the supplement is, or what exactly our Pirsig's contribution was (it could just be an editorial 'update' of the earlier work... though he is billed as an "author"). If anyone knows anything about this 'supplement' please let me know. If I find more, I'll let you know.
take care
rick
