Humble apologies. I dislike jargon, too. IMO is short for In My Opinion.
Both as a phrase and an acronym, it's redundant. In using it I mean to
convey an invitation for others to express an opinion on the subject, but
I'm sure that meaning doesn't always come across. I should just come
right out and say, "What do you think?" I'm with you and Paul in placing
a very high value on clarity. I believe if someone misunderstands what I
write, it's my fault, not the reader's. The only good thing about acronyms
is that they save the reader's time, but only if previously understood.
