digital computer or the gears of a cycle transmission as he does at the top
of a mountain or in the petals of a flower. To think otherwise is to demean
the Buddha -which is to demean oneself.

If ZMM had to be reduced to just one thought, this quote would probably be
it and I'm not sure that Pirsig ever said anything more profound. I can
remember how happy these words made me the first time I ever read them.
