Dear Steve,
As you might have guessed I very much agree with your ideas (of 23 Jun 2003
17:38:51 -0400) about personality being 3rd level latched and 'human nature'
to be an oxymoron.
To your comparison of eating non-socialized dogs and abortion (23 Jun 2003
20:33:01 -0400) I would want to add that unlike even socialized dogs homo
sapiens foetuses have the potential to participate in intellectual patterns
of value in a later stage. My position regarding abortion is, that it is
immoral unless the life of the mother is endangered, but that the state
should leave the decision to a large extent to the parents and not strictly
forbid abortion. Enforced morality is immoral.
With friendly greetings,
Wim
