Hi Rick, (David B.), and all,

RICK to Jonathan [edited by J]
In your first sentence you correctly noted that my argument was that the
'4th level intellect' and the 'pre/post intellect' are not the same thing.
[snip] you need to show that both "intellects" are, in fact, the same [to
    support
your objection] that I'm putting the one and only "intellect" into two
    different
    parts of the MoQ.

    Jonathan replies:
Fair point, but I can equally well throw it back at you and ask you to show
    the difference.
Why use the same word when you mean two different things? Are you sure they
    are different?

I agree with all of this, but I don't see how it answers my objection. I
agree that DQ is always left out. But no *static* patterns should be
    excluded.

    JONATHAN retorts
As I see it, there are an infinity of potential SQ patterns which may be
    left out.
One can never be sure of encompassing them all within a metaphysical
    hierarchy.
David B. may claim that everything fits neatly, but you show me a
    classification
(e.g. Pirsig's 4 levels), and I'll find you some platypi.

Rick, you asked me to elaborate more on abstract concepts and levels of
awareness. I think that is best left for another post, but let me leave you
with a relevant quote from the founder of this discussion group:

    DIANA http://www.moq.org/old_lilasquad/9806/0030.html
There's static sentience and dynamic sentience and the sentience of an
atom is very different from the sentience of a Texan, but they are all
types of experience and consequently value

    Jonathan
BTW Rick, I agree that we probably don't disagree very much.
