Skutvik:
I know only too well the argument that the DQ is beyond everything,
but it IS part of the MOQ in the same sense that God is part of
Christendom and Allah is of Islam. "Ecumenism" I can't discuss here,
but I see the SOL doing away with the container logic specter and
that is a relief. Momentarily at least because Steve pointed to the
difficulties a Q-level creates, but IMO also there the SOL interpretation
saves the MOQ.
squonk: If Dynamic Quality is part of the Skutvik doctrine, in the same sense
that God is part of Christianity or Islam, then the Skutvik doctrine is a
religion also.
Not only is the Skutvik doctrine a religion, but it is a rational religion
based upon a definition of intellect.
This marks a radical shift away from the Metaphysics of Quality, as DQ is
unpatterned and therefore indicated, but not part of any patterned description,
and this includes the MoQ itself.
Being unpatternd, it is not appropriate to term DQ 'God.' It may not even be
appropriate to term it DQ!
The term 'Q-level' is not included in the MoQ, rather, this term has been
invented for the Skutvik doctrine. I feel it would be most helpful if terms
referring to the Skutvik doctrine were clearly indicated so as to avoid conveying
the impression that such terms are sanctioned by the MoQ.
The MoQ does not have subjects or objects in its description. The MoQ does
however describe SQ in tension with DQ. Subjects and objects may be derived from
a tension between DQ and SQ, but such a derivation is an artistic creation of
the intellect, and therefore primarily aesthetic.
This description does not 'suffer' from 'container logic' and therefore does
not require 'saving.'
