    You've got me all wrong, DMB. 'Cuz, I feel perfectly confident in thinking you're wrong about Rorty. I think I do have a proper understanding of Rorty, and by proper understanding I'm talking about what I've called "biography" in my biography/philosophy dichotomy.

    And I think you are wrong about me. You have a passage from another post that I can't help but think is directed to me:

    "The proper subtext or underlying motivation SHOULD BE the importance or relevence of the idea being expressed. In this case one would be willing to express the idea in a way that reaches out to the curious, to those who may not be familiar with the esoteric terms involved. When the power or beauty of the idea motivates a writer will work hard to make it accessable to anyone willing to try. But what we see instead is an entirely different motive. Here the aim is not clarity or communication. The aim is not to present ideas because they are so worthy. Instead the aim is to demonstrate one's superiority. The aim is to impress, not inform.     Sorry, don't see it. I think you have me by the wrong handle. And besides, you are always saying that we should overlook the fact that you are arrogant, shouldn't you overlook the way I dress up my posts?

    I think you are flat out wrong, about myself and Rorty.
