Hi Dan
[Dan:]
Thank you for sharing the letter from Robert Pirsig. If a person insists
on
defining the intellectual level, I don't see a problem with his
definition
in LC, so, I saw no reason to bother (not that you were bothering him,
mind
you) the man further with it.
[Paul:]
I agree, my questions were more about where primitive and non-Greek
cultures would fit in, given the Lila's Child definition.
[Dan:]
He'd taken so much of his time with Lila's
Child already.
[Paul:]
I know, and I cannot thank both of you enough for completing the
project. As you will know if you have read some of my posts, I use
Lila's Child a lot to try and understand the MOQ.
[Dan:]
Like he says, we already know what the intellectual level is.
[Paul:]
I agree, but since we spend so much time disagreeing on what it is, it
doesn't always seem that way!
[Dan:]
Since he writes that he remembers being annoyed, I'm even more pleased
that
I didn't bother him with it!
[Paul:]
I actually read the letter as Pirsig saying that he was annoyed that
ANYONE should ask what "intellect" is, not you personally. But he then
goes on to say that he has been troubled by the way the question has
grown. I feel he didn't mind responding with his opinion.
[Dan:]
I always find it so thrilling to receive a letter from Mr. Pirsig and I
bet you do too.
[Paul:]
Yes. I am pleased that he has taken the time to answer questions which
he is probably sick and tired of answering!
Cheers
Paul
