Congrats on all the hard work, hope you get your
PHD soon, how have your colleagues responded
to your Pirsig interest. I have never seen anything on
Pirsig in a philosophy journal, except on-line ones,
strangely enough.

David,
There are, at least, a hundred articles on Pirsig’s work in philosophy and English literature academic journals though most are concerned with ZMM. A few of these are printed in the Di Santo’ and Steele’s “Guidebook to ZMM”, more articles are cited there while far more are mentioned in the academic search engines that any half-decent university library will have.
Everyone, who has seen the website at the Department and outside has been very positive towards it (Platt’s definitely being the most eulogistic!). In the Department, the actual attitude towards Pirsig’s philosophy is mixed ranging from the very enthusiastic (usually from the younger lecturers such as Dr Piers Stephens) to the older ones who are usually as enthusiastic as a dog who’s just been shown a card trick (though they are exceptions to this!).
Best wishes,
Anthony
