"Then the aesthetic nature of the MoQ is a value blind spot to those holding
faith?"
Hi Mark, and forum,
joe: holding beauty and chaos! The 'choosing unit' of an individual is an
"an intense coherence between static quality within and across levels." When a
microbe eats, is the microbe beyond gravity? I do not know if a Buddhist
would see this as a problem. The theory of evolution does have an intense
coherence between static quality within and across levels. The theory of evolution
is part of the aesthetic nature of the MoQ.
"The nature of beauty depends on the levels involved and their relationship
to each other." "Render to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's
and to Me what is Mine." Does this create an impassable gulf between Buddhism
and Christianity?
IMO Those holding faith are looking only at a comprehension of existence, an
emotional point of view so to speak. Does the aesthetic nature of the MoQ
pertain to existence, purpose, quality, individually or comprehensively?
Whatever the answer, I see no problem between a person holding faith and the
aesthetic nature of the MoQ. Apples and Oranges!
David M's hint at the vibratory nature of everything, suggests the beauty of
musical harmony is as natural as living, and the aesthetic nature of the MoQ
may have laws of its own.
Thanks, Mark, for raising an interesting point.
Joe
Hi Joe,
I feel that a Christian has is a conditioned coherence - and, i might add,
one of high value in social terms. But as the MoQ digs deeper than a Christian
may feel comfortable with - especially in regard to individuality, which was
the thrust of my post - then Christianity becomes irrelevant.
All the best,
Mark
