Hi Khoo,
You emphasise the static nature of the Christian influence in my society, and
this influence reaches well up into the intellectual level also. I feel this
is why many Christians cannot even begin to engage in the MoQ - its conception
of self, for a start, is alien to their belief system.
Human flourishing, for a Christian, is to live a social and compassionate
life discovering the many wonders of God's creation. Human flourishing for a
valuist may be to participate in a coherent relationship with DQ. Indeed, the
beauty of each coherent patterning we regard as 'us' is a reflection of the MoQ's
description of Universal harmony - so, we virtually invent increasingly
coherent descriptions of us and the universe as a single continuum - something the
MoQ, i feel, does very well.
The invention of God was a high Quality idea which has served an important
social use - and i must insist that it still has a purpose. But we invent the
future in response to DQ; God does not have a future mapped out for us.
All the best,
Mark
