Hi Jon,
As someone who loves freedom, I consider this a very small consolation prize. We did not go to Iraq to capture a tyrant. We went there to rid Iraq of WMD which we were lied to about. We went there because we were told Iraq posed an "immenent threat " to the freedom of Americans. We went there because we were told of a connection between Iraq and 9/11, which was proved a lie. If the goal of going into Iraq was to capture Saddam our duty is done and we can begin to bring our armed service people home. Nobody believes that though. We will continue to lose American lives and respect around the world while pursuing a policy promoted by a releative few neoconservative intent on promoting US Military intervention around the world in order to maintain our role as the sole military superpower. The capture of Saddam was not worth the loss of a single life IMHO.
