When we stop letting people in the US vote for president, congressmen, local
officials, etc...then you can stop calling it a democracy.

Technically a republic, but that doesn't change the fact that democracy is an
integral part of the system. If was all about money (which I used to think
just a couple of years ago) then Bill Gates would be president.
