May i ask if you find any value in the description of exceptional SQ-SQ
coherence/tension as that point at which DQ influences evolution?
Paul:
Yes, it is a good general description of what may be a universal
process.

I feel this description accords with Lila, SODV and ZMM, and delivers a
sound view of Human intellect as a creative and intuitive living process
- a code of art.
Paul:
I agree. Lately I have been giving a lot of thought to Pirsig's
statement that the "classic pattern of rationality can be tremendously
improved, expanded and made far more effective through the formal
recognition of Quality in its operation."
Hi Paul, Mark,
joe: I find this discussion interesting, I suggest, Paul, that a meaning
for "the formal recognition of Quality in its operation" would be the
evolution of the hiearchy of the four moral orders.
IMO as a individual I find I contain the dynamic of the four moral orders by
evolution. I also contain another order of my own, self-consciousness, in
my individuality. Do I contain three DQ's? As a sentient, no! they are
combined into one, the individual sentient. As an individual, yes, I am an
artist, and I can explore 3 DQ's. My actions can be conscious or
mechanical.
In history there have been great teachers like Buddha, Christ, Mohammed.
Why? In history also there are stories of a fall from innocence. Do the
great teachers tell us there is an unclearness in our evolution that needs
individual attention to correct? I suggest the 'unclearness' lies in the
apprehension of existence, a moral order. A "formal recognition of Quality"
as value would aid my artistic attempt to create my life according to a
moral order of such 'value'. Love can be found in the organic, and the
intellectual orders, as well as the social order.
IMO everything, then, exists as one again.
Joe
