well Dan, I can tell you one thing......you are not alone. Many occasions,
I have asked or told my friends to read various books. to no effect. I've
only recently gottn my best friend to start reading ZAMM, and I think he was
drawn to the title mostly at first, due to interest in buying a cycle(which
we are going to do soon). now he is starting to see the ligh?t....
That feeling of being in your world, I have felt in so many a book(Im sure
many of us have). for example, when Im reading islandia(my current book) ,
its like taking a big slow drink of water, having a nice sleep, being
excited, fascinated and full of wonder all at once. I also question what I
read sometimes, I think, I feel....these are things that make books
beautiful.... :_)
Philosophy I think is a good and healthy part of an intelligent persons
life. If some people do not wish to engage in it, I have no problem. I
just question whether or not they can be happy without thinking ....even
though after I think about somethings, and come to certain realizations, it
makes me un-happy. However, I would suppose that the statement "Ignorance
is Bliss" can be applied.
sorry if i broke away from topic too much. i got carried away. Do you not
all agree though?
