Hello ,

I agree completely.
I wrote almost a complete post on this topic, but my computer crashed, so my
time is now very short.
Basically, I said:
I think that on all levels of playing, whether it be solo, duo, Orchestral,
Bands, etc., there is a common aim to achieve
harmony with the music. The more spirit we put into our playing, the closer
we come to achieving harmony (inner peace , sort of)
with the music.
Concerning the original debate of musical excellence, I think this would be
where we can draw the line as to whether people such as Britney
Spears are truly musicians, or whether they are operating on a purely(or for
the majority) commercial basis.
What do you think Platt? everyone?
