    Hi Joan

Nice to have a female voice popping in.
If you do not want the emails you can unsubscribe
and 'lurk' as it gets called & view the archive as
it appears a day later. Or just delete them.
I hope your second point is not true of too many of us.
I enjoy putting my ideas on the site and having them challenged
to see how they stand up and how well I am expressing them.
I have my own views that overlap with a lot of the MOQ but I am
more than happy to simply part company with it where I disagree.
I also enjoy testing other people's views and ideas to see if I can
make any sense of them, and this proves to be very difficult in fact,
partly with us all having very different backgrounds and from different countries.
How would you like to use/develop the chat here? There is a minor role for looking
at whether some ideas work in the MOQ context as clearly some will and some
will not. But this is also very difficult as there are 3/4 schools of MOQ interpretation on the
go here -at least, something that has surprised me. Your view of philosophy is a despairing one.
Personally, philosophy has greatly enriched my life, although you do pay quite a price
sorting out the good from the bad, in terms of time and effort. But there are certain books that
have given me great pleasure to discover. As for the desert, I am quite a fan of the quiet myself.

    regards
    David M

I make a few observations:1. I now have over two hundred mostly unread emails clogging my account. Wouldn't a bulletin board type of posting system be more useful and attractive to most of you people?

        2. These emails are reading like "battle for the fiefdom of the moqs". Silly.

        3. Imagine an old maid smashing bottle after bottle after bottle of champagne against the rusting hull of a derelict tanker. This is philosophy.

        4. The desert is nice and quiet.
