I know what you mean.
It's impossible to have the bandwidth to take every thread and post on board.
I think this is true whether it is e-mail or bulletin board style.
I do as David M suggest. Lurk in quiet meditation and pop in for interaction when the mood takes me.
The desert is a nice place to discover the answers to questions. As Pisrig describes with references to Einstein, the hypotheses must come from somewhere. They're not much use (or truth), such hypotheses, without a bit of human interaction though.
