    Good one, Platt! I hadn't thought about that when I read that quote, but
    you're absolutely right, it does advocate dismantling Saddam's illegitimate
    authority, doesn't it? What else could he mean but send in the troops?
    What I had been thinking, incidentally, was how uselessly vague, empty and
    dangerous a statement like that was, seeing as it offers no way of
    "identifying" or "justifying" or "dismantling", but only advocates headlong
    destruction of whatever someone doesn't like in whatever way anyone has
    enough power to accomplish.

    And of course I still object to the idea that authority, or morality in
    general, needs any justification. If other patterns come along that are
    stronger, it will change. But there's no need to force the issue, no need
    to hate morality or patterns repeating. That's hating value, and that's not
    good.
