    Hi Marsha

It's very nice to meet you. When Buddha spoke of joyful participation in the
sorrows of the world I don't think he meant to say that the individual
should take on the responsibility of doing something about the state of the
world. The world is in a sorry state; it's made up of suffering. That
doesn't mean we should go around in a lament. And it doesn't mean we should
go around with a happy face painted on our T-shirt either. If a person wants
to make sense of the world they should first stop trying to make sense and
pretty soon things will fall into place as they should.

    >does one become a better citizen? It's not for nothing that WTC, Pentagon
    >& White House were to be hit. (The money, muscle & brains.) They are U.S.

I think the MOQ would say that a person becomes a better citizen by serving
society. And as much as we would like to, I don't think any of us can "do
the right thing" all the time, including our leaders. It's the
service/sacrifice to others that improves the value of society.

    Thank you for your comments.

    Dan
