Part II.
The highly visible "Telemark" point provides a quick 'pick-up' reference for
a more controlled, effortless cast. Every Climax Fly Line has a built-in loop
enabling you to make quick and easy leader connections. Spend more time
fishing, not hassling with your fly line!
Climax Fly Lines have a special taper design to make every cast more accurate
and enjoyable. Hi-tech floating agents make this line float higher on top of
water's surface for a softer, less disturbing line pick-up.
Climax Wind Line: The answer to casting into the wind is here! The Climax
Wind Line's compound taper simply casts better in windy conditions than
conventional lines. The telemark gives the angler the "sweet spot" for easy line pick
up. Climax Wind Line's factory looped tip makes changing leaders on the stream
easy and practical. Available in WF4F - WF13F.

I assembled the spey rod for an initial test drive. The test line was a
WindCutter 6/7/8 with tips mounted on a Waterworks ULA Force 3.4 reel. My first
impression of the rod was that it is very lightweight and well balanced. The
action might be termed "Modernized Traditional." It is a little bit faster
than true traditional. Single spey, snap-tee, snake roll and double spey casts
were performed with both floating and fast sinking tips. The rod worked well
throughout the session, although I had to really slow down with the sinking
tips. This rod loads down deep into the butt for long casts, but as soon as I
found the "sweet spot", 80' casts were smooth and easy.

Deep cranking can produce a limit in a hurry, so Menendez prepares for this
quick action by having five crankbaits ready on the front deck. "Once you find
the sweet spot you're ready to start catching them on every throw," says
Menendez who frequently takes five bass on five casts. "Once I hook a fish, I’ll
triangulate to keep track of that area and then I’ll make multiple casts. As
soon as I put a bass in the boat, I immediately throw back, exactly to that same
spot."

The progression from initial relationship towards good fly fishing is
apparent in the above quotes. The initial relationship is one of 'feel' between Human
and rod/line; the sweet spot is explored and maintained as a coherent state.
Then, taken as a whole complex of static patterns, relationships cohere and
progress a fine line between static experience and openness to Dynamic change
toward ever increasing 'betterness.' Although one may expect static degeneration
as patterns increase, the caring fly fisher maintains an aesthetic free
floating excellence. To understand this is a step towards understanding the Dynamic
nature of all reality itself.
"Thoreau likewise points to the liminal nature of his natural sojourn:
isolated from society in the sacred space around Walden Pond, Thoreau is able to
cross the threshold between heaven and earth via the pond which “partakes of the
color of both” (Walden 463). Spiritually-minded nature writers such as Thoreau
consistently describe religious experience as transpiring not merely in the
wild but in nature’s liminal spaces, on the edges between land and water or on
the summits which separate land and sky. In defining his quest as being an
attempt “to stand on the meeting of two eternities, the past and future, which is
precisely the present moment; to toe that line,” Thoreau describes spiritual
awakening as occurring in a liminal space temporally between past and future
and physically between land and water (Walden 336)."
