Interesting point! Somehow the world just seems
to better validate my worth as a human being when
I can be confident that in enjoying my meal of exotic
animal and plant products I am CONSUMING the
annual food budget of a small African country.
The food just tastes better when children starve
for my pleasure.

My jaw is agape that you could even think of such a thing...
(OK, sorry for the smart-assed insincerity-- the difference
described is that of living a social level life dependent
upon social approval and the concomitent definitions of
who YOU are, on the one hand and a life of more dynamic
intellectual or - dare I say it [spiritual] quality on the other.)
There is a different world from those two perspectives.
Am I on track here?
thanks--mel
