I still think (at least for now) that satisfactory precise level definition
is not possible, I'm afraid we should be content with descriptions as
opposed to the definitions. It seems the higher the levels the more
difficult it is to separate them. Social and Intellectual are almost
inseparable - borders are fuzzy and patterns are mediated. But we should
not fret about tagging patterns so much. It's only important when they are
in conflict and we need to choose which one to support. That's probably
what Magnus means by
> I think we need to look at the differences and correlation between the
levels
And that's when we need hierarchy of patterns.
I agree with Hugo on usefulness of S/O tool, but would not call going
beyond rationality as a step back. I feel guilty 'wasting' my time on art
consumption, and playing sports as it is, and only in MoQ my rationality
found some validation (or rationalization) for the needs. Our rationality
was developed for the sake of human species survival, may be that is why we
feel threatened every time we abandon it. I believe, quality events can be
found in 'every step' and we should not be afraid to spend our time to
experience each of them.? Yes for me it is still a question, I feel like
I'm betraying my team when I read biography of Bohr instead of going
through industry magazines or visualizing my next business meeting. By the
way, I also found a collection of his lectures: 'Atomic Physics and Human
Knowledge' by Niels Bohr. I guess, quality event on the intellectual level
is of the highest moral value. Yes, there always exists a risk of mistaken
>regressing patient for a Buddha-like ideal< or a thug for a freedom
fighter, each case requires special consideration. But, the fact that we
are making our living by using our rationality buys us a right to step over
it at least some times.
