MD Was Quality invented or rediscovered?

Who here thinks that Quality is something created by Pirsig to explain the
patterns he saw in the world around him, and who here here thinks Quality is
Pirsig's rediscovery and application of the ideas of the ideas of Taoism and
the Sophists to modern philosophy and science?
